HAIR EXTENSIONS AT THE HIVE SALON

So it’s that time of year again. You either love it or hate it, but whatever your stance the valentine’s vibe somehow works its way into everyone’s look. So in honour of Saint V, let’s hear it for ALL the ladies. Whatever your status, make it about loving yourself (sorry a bit shmushy) and indulge in a bit of self care, smokin’ hair and something that makes you feel hot.

Here’s a few looks that we’re currently crushing on.

Cute, don’t-mess-with- me, uber babe

There’s loads of silk and satin kimono style dresses about currently, that have a very vintage hollywood vibe. Modernise and tone it down with a denim jacket or leather biker and perhaps opt for a shorter or midi style so you don’t look like you’ve borrowed you nan’s dressing gown. Aussie babe and blogger, Laura Jade Stone, knows how to work an oyster silk dress without looking too ‘try hard’. Keep hair textured and a bit messy if you want to dress it down and go glossy waves for a more glamorous, vintage feel.

Vixen

Ask for a big blow out and maybe even opt in for some of our Beauty Works hair extensions if you want to go for full on mermaid waves (keep an eye out for our blog on this). Charlotte Tilbury has some amazing how to looks on her site and her products, whilst pricey, are absolutely worth the splurge Charlotte Tilbury Looks!. Sarah Ashcroft knows a thing or to about vamping it up like a vixen, follow her blog if you are a glamour addict and love a sexy silhouette.

Badass

Okay so she might be a bit scary on a first date, but the badass is certainly intriguing and definitely smokin’ hot. Go for a pretty tea dress with biker boots or a nineties slip with fishnets and a denim jacket. Totally lusting after Taylor Lashae at the moment who seems to work this look well.

The fringe is a key part of her look and can totally change up a hairstyle. Fringes are awesome for the following reasons 1) will hide annoying spots that crop up before said date 2) can really soften features through shadow and altering facial proportions 3) make you feel like Mia Wallace from Pulp Fiction. There are so many different options so chat with your hair stylist about what would work for you.

Most importantly, Valentines 2018 is about female empowerment. Working in a girl heavy industry it’s important we uphold our feminist values and show the world we ain’t to be messed with. So for those lucky guys and gals taking us on a date. Respect us, our values and don’t mess with our hair. Seriously.
