Party hair: How to

Hey from The Hive. We are feeling festive baby!
Okay so this post is going to save you from frantically dry shampooing your hair in the office toilet in the metamorphosis from workplace tyrant to carefree, out of hours babe and show all your colleagues you are a) quite nice actually and b) darn hot too.

So stop with the random kirby gripping and listen up. We’ve put together two really simple yet totally gorgeous looks that you can do from home (or the office loo). All you need is hair, a comb with section divider (or just something you can separate your hair with) and a clear elastic hair band. Voila.

How to: The Hive Fishtail Plait

This works best on mid to long hair and is a perfect way to pimp up locks after a long day. It is super easy but really impactful, so perfect for a night out or Christmas party.

Step 1: Bring all hair to one side (pick your best!) This is where the plait will sit.

Step 2: Divide hair into two equal sections

Step 3: Take an inch piece of hair from the outside of one of the sections and bring it to the inside of to the other

Step 4: Repeat step 3 with the other section of hair making sure you still have the two sides.

Step 5: Continue with Step 3 and Step 4 until you reach the end of your hair or wherever you would like your plait to finish

Step 6: Secure the end of your plait with a clear elastic hair band

Step 7: Mess it up. Create a full and textured plait by gently pulling at the hair either side. The messier it is, the more drama you create.

How to: The Hive Low Pony

Again this works best on longer hair, pretty easy way to impress but through a non-complicated step guide:

Step 1: Section off any hair you would like to leave loose around you face. Keep it wispy.

Step 2: With the remaining hair, tie into a low ponytail.

Step 3: Once the ponytail is secure take an inch section of hair and separate it from the rest

Step 4: With the section start a normal plait and carry it to the end of the hair.

Step 5: Loosen the plait to ‘pouff’ it out by pulling gently at the hair from either side. Start from the bottom and work your way up.

Step 6: Begin to wrap the plait around the base of your pony tail. Once you have round this round completely, pin with grips until it feels secure.

Step 7: Finish with shine and hair spray.

How to: The Hive Low Bun

Ah the lowly low bun. So chic, easy and effective. Brigitte Bardot eat your heart out. Here’s our how to…

Step 1: Comb and smooth hair into a low pony tail

Step 2: Secure with a clear hair band

Step 3: Wrap chunk sized pieces of hair around the band creating a bun shape, secure and loose pieces with grips

Step 4: Repeat until all the hair is up. If you have finer hair, backcombing will make the bun appear thicker

Step 5: For extra volume and that 60’s shape pull hair gently from the crown area without pulling it out of the bun

Step 6: Finish with hairspray and shine spray

If you want to go for something a bit more complicated, or fancy being lazy, why not book in for a put up or blow dry? Check out some of our favourite looks for clients who wanted to wow on a big night. Prices start from £25.

We are getting booked up super fast ladies, so get in touch quick if you want us to make you fabulous.
