GET YOUR SUMMER HAIR READY!

HAIR EXTENSIONS AT THE HIVE SALON

HAPPY 3RD BIRTHDAY!
May 11, 2018

Yes it’s colder than Russia outside, but just like preparing your body, your hair needs some attention too. If like the former, you just hope for the best and slap on some St Tropez then you are not going to see the results you want. Start now and your hair will be lush and beach ready by the time we warm up.

Shampoo, Conditioner and Mask

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but you need to splash out here. Whilst the initial investment might be painful you often don’t need to use as much as you think you need to. Plus, see point 2, this should make it go a little further.

The Hive recommends Label M, Keratase, Philip Kingsley and Redken as good go to products for your every day shampoo brands.

Philip Kingsley’s legendary pre shampoo conditioner, Elastersizer (religiously used by Audrey Hepburn) is an absolute miracle product. It literally transforms hair into a silky yet bouncy delight and is a lifesaver before a day spent on the beach.

Once a week, pile on a high quality hair mask. Again, it might hurt the purse initially but it should go a long way. If you can use Olaplex Number 3 once a week then you will really see results. We are just about to launch this product in salon, so come on in and pre order.

Frequency

Try to wash hair every 3 days. Ewwwww? No, it might be hard for the first 2 weeks but it will get better. You’re not then stripping away essential hair oils and styling it every day. This is going to make a big difference to your hair condition come the summer.

When it comes to styling see if you can limit the number of times you use heat on you hair (maximum twice a week). If you are not washing as frequently this won’t be a problem and you could always try loosely plaiting damp hair and letting it dry naturally or pop in some big ol’ rollers.

Brushing

Try to brush when it’s dry not wet, wet hair is more fragile and will therefore break more easily.

We recommend you get your hands on a wet brush which ensures tangle free locks without breaking or damaging the hair. Wet brushes can be bought in salon (RRP £20)

Spray and Oils

Always ALWAYS use a protective heat spray before styling. We recommend Label M (RRP £13.75).

Use a protein spray and oil daily. Spray roots and ends with Label M’s protein spray (RRP £15.75) whilst applying the rejuvenating oil (RRP £29.95) to just the ends and length of the hair.

All Label M products can be purchased in salon.

Tying your hair

Bobbles can break hair. When tying back hair use a bobble very loosely and take it out very carefully. Amazon sell these in multi packs so stock up now.

BOBBLES HERE!

It’s also a good tip to loosely plait hair before bed as this will stop knotting in sleep and allow you to wake up looking like a goddess…

So that’s it kids. Do you hair homework now and you’ll be an A* come the summer. If you want some advice on any of the above or specific guidance for your hair come in and see us for a chat!
